🗺️ Map Overview
Avalon is a sprawling, verticality-focused battle royale map that launched alongside Black Ops Royale on 12 March 2026. Built from enhanced Black Ops 7 Endgame assets with improved visual clarity, it features 21 major points of interest spread across diverse terrain — from coastal cliffs and ancient ruins to suburban neighbourhoods and a full-sized football stadium.
The map is split into four quadrants:
- Northwest: Golf Club, Residences, Tennis Club, The Azure Pine, Trinity Stadium, Marine Villas
- Northeast: High Town, Coastal Security, The Dig, Cliff Town
- Southwest: Low Town, Casino, Winery, Colosseum
- Southeast: Resorts, Beach Club, Harbour, Cliff Town South
Key features include Relay Antennas for wingsuit redeployment, Zombie zones with premium loot, and extensive vertical geometry that rewards players who use elevation effectively.
📍 Best Landing Spots (Ranked)
1. Low Town (S-Tier)
Low Town is the consensus best landing spot on Avalon. Dense urban layout with numerous buildings, excellent loot density, and multiple exit routes for rotations. The verticality of the buildings creates interesting gunfights with plenty of cover. High traffic means early fights, but surviving Low Town usually means you're kitted for endgame.
- Loot Density: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
- Safety: ⭐⭐
- Rotation Options: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
2. Colosseum (S-Tier)
The Colosseum is Avalon's most iconic POI — a massive ancient arena with multiple floors, underground passages, and surrounding buildings. The loot inside is excellent, but the circular design means you can be shot from almost anywhere. Best for confident teams who can clear and hold it.
- Loot Density: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
- Safety: ⭐
- Rotation Options: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
3. Resorts (A-Tier)
A cluster of luxury buildings on the southeastern coast. Good loot spread across multiple structures, and the coastal position means you only need to watch one direction. The Beach Club nearby offers additional loot if your primary building is contested.
- Loot Density: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
- Safety: ⭐⭐⭐
- Rotation Options: ⭐⭐⭐
4. High Town (A-Tier)
Elevated urban area in the northeast with natural high-ground advantage. The elevation makes it excellent for snipers and long-range players. Loot is spread out across multiple buildings, and the Coastal Security POI nearby provides overflow loot.
- Loot Density: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
- Safety: ⭐⭐⭐
- Rotation Options: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
5. Cliff Town (B-Tier)
Edge-of-map POI with decent loot and very low contest rates. You'll almost always land uncontested, giving you time to loot up safely. The downside is longer rotations into the circle and fewer high-tier weapon spawns.
- Loot Density: ⭐⭐⭐
- Safety: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
- Rotation Options: ⭐⭐
🔥 Hot Drops vs Safe Drops
Hot Drops (High Risk, High Reward)
- Colosseum — Maximum chaos, best loot, highest death rate
- Low Town — Dense fights, excellent loot, multiple teams every game
- Trinity Stadium — Tight corridors and multi-level combat, Red Card map vibes
- Casino — Central location, always contested, great rotation hub
Safe Drops (Low Risk, Steady Loot)
- Cliff Town — Edge POI, rarely contested
- The Azure Pine — Mountain resort, scenic and quiet
- Marine Villas — Western edge, good for beginning any match
- Winery — Southwest corner, decent loot with low traffic
🔄 Rotation Routes
Rotation is everything in Black Ops Royale — especially with wingsuits enabling fast traversal. Here are the best rotation strategies:
Northwest → Centre
Golf Club → Casino → Colosseum. Use the downhill terrain from Golf Club to build wingsuit speed. The Casino is a natural midpoint with Relay Antennas for further redeployment.
Northeast → Centre
High Town → The Dig → Colosseum. The elevation from High Town gives you excellent wingsuit range. The Dig provides a quiet loot stop before the chaos of central Avalon.
Edge → Circle
Always identify the nearest Relay Antenna to your drop location. Activating it gives you a wingsuit launch that can cover half the map. Plan your rotations around Relay Antenna locations rather than running on foot.
General Rotation Tips
- Rotate early — being ahead of the collapse is more important than extra loot.
- Use rivers and low ground for stealthy rotations when wingsuits aren't available.
- High ground is king — always rotate to elevation when possible.
- Vehicles exist but are loud — use them only when the circle forces desperate moves.
💰 Loot Distribution
Unlike standard Warzone, Black Ops Royale has a distinct loot hierarchy across the map:
- Tier 1 Loot (Common/Uncommon): Edge POIs, residential areas, minor buildings
- Tier 2 Loot (Rare/Epic): Major POIs like Low Town, High Town, Resorts
- Tier 3 Loot (Epic/Legendary): Zombie zones, Cradle Breaches, Colosseum central area
Attachment Kits are scattered throughout all areas but are more common in buildings with multiple floors. Upgrade Stations are fixed locations at major POIs — learn their positions and prioritise them in your rotation.
🧟 Zombie Zones & Rewards
Zombie zones are marked areas on the Avalon map where AI zombies roam. They're dangerous but offer the best loot in Black Ops Royale.
How Zombie Zones Work
- Zombie zones are marked on the tac-map with distinct icons
- Entering a zone triggers zombie spawns that increase in difficulty
- Clearing all zombies spawns a reward crate with high-tier loot
- Zones reset after a cooldown period, allowing revisiting
Zombie Zone Rewards
- Tier 3 Armour — The single most valuable item in the game
- Legendary Weapons — Pre-upgraded with optimal attachments
- Ray Gun (Rare) — Small chance from the highest-tier zones
- Rare Equipment — Items not found in standard ground loot
Strategy
Hit Zombie zones during mid-game when most teams are focused on PvP. The noise of zombie fighting will attract attention, so have your squad covering flanks while one or two players clear the zone. The Tier 3 armour reward alone makes it worth the risk.
